HOW DOES TOP4FANS USE COOKIES?
A cookie is a text file placed on your computer when you visit a web site or read an advertisement. It collects information about your browsing activity and sends you service ads adapted to your device (computer, mobile phone or tablet).
TOP4FANS website is designed with the needs and expectations of our readers in mind. This is one of the reason why we use cookies, in order, for example, to be able to identify you when you sign in.
We use cookies to:
- Memorize your preferences and settings: If you visit one of the Webedia group websites or if you choose to display the comments according to a certain order (for example chronologically, the oldest on top), we can store these data in a cookie in order to provide you with relevant information when you revisit the site. This allows you to save time because it eliminates the need to enter the same information each time you visit the web site.
- Log in: When you use your Microsoft account to log in on one of Webedia websites, we store your single ID, and the time you logged in on an encrypted cookie on your hard disk. With this cookie you can browse every single page of the site without the need to establish another connection each time. These cookies are deleted from your computer when you disconnect. We also use cookies to make the log in process easier. For example, your email address may be stored in a cookie that stays in your computer after you have logged out. This cookie provides information about your email address so when you log in again you will only have to enter your password. If you use a public computer or if you do not wish to keep this information, please select the relevant option on the connection page and this cookie will not be used any more.
- Display the targeted advertising: When we display ads on our pages, we also store one or more permanent cookies on your computer or device in order to recognize them every time we publish an ad. When we display our ads and those of our advertising and publishing partners on our websites, we can, over the years, collect information relating to the type of pages, content and ads that you, or someone else who may use your computer, have visited or read. We use this information for several reasons. For example, it can help prevent you being exposed to the same type of ads all the time. This information also allows us to select and display targeted ads that we think are compatible with your preferences.
- Collect and analyze the statistics. We may use cookies to count the number of visits, and unique viewers, as well as the pages you have visited or to produce global statistics regarding the activity on our websites and services. These analysis allow us to better manage these websites and services, and improve their performance.
- Cooperate with partners: Besides the cookies Webedia may create when you visit our websites, third parties may also set cookies on your device when you visit websites belonging to the Webedia group. Sometimes, our web pages host third parties content or ads, such as videos, news or announcements supplied by other advertising networks. Given that your browser connects to these third parties web servers to capture this content, these third parties may set or read their own cookies on your device and may also collect information regarding your browsing activity, i.e. which websites you have visited and which online services you have used.
